The 13th Polish Chemistry Congress, held on 11–12 June 2026 in Warsaw, provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the future of the European and Polish chemical industries.
This year’s debates focused on issues of raw material and energy security, supply chain resilience, the competitiveness of the European economy, and the challenges associated with the energy transition and decarbonisation. It is also becoming increasingly clear that digitalisation, AI and automation are becoming important tools for building a competitive advantage in the industry.
One of the key conclusions from the Congress is the need to create stable conditions for investment and innovation, whilst maintaining a balance between ambitious climate targets and the competitiveness of European industry.
I would like to thank the organisers and all participants for the inspiring discussions and exchange of experiences. It is precisely the cooperation between business, government and academia that will be crucial for the further development of the chemical sector.
